GOldbuG!

Saturday was finally warm and sunny after a couple weeks of cold, wet weather and I went to Goldbug Hot Springs just south of Salmon (about 2 hours from here) and had the most incredible afternoon. It was a two mile hike that went up, up, up, starting in some sweet-smelling sage desert, crossing a lush stream and then climbing into some rocky mountains. Up in a V-shape between two of the peaks at about 6,000 feet were pools and waterfalls of all different sizes, depths and temperatures. Some were super hot like a hot tub and others were like a perfectly warm bath that never got cold. We sat out there for about 3 hours just soaking in the view. You wouldn't think that sitting in a rocky pool of water would really be too much fun, but it was a blast.
That's it for now. I've gotta go pack for our first backcountry trip tomorrow!
